Kate Averis

Dr. Kate Averis is Lecturer in European Languages at the University of Western Australia. Her research lies in the field of contemporary European and American literatures in Spanish and French with a focus on women’s writing, translingual texts, translation, transculturalism, gender, feminism, and ageing. She is the author of Exile and Nomadism in French and Hispanic Women’s Writing (Oxford: Legenda, 2014) and has also published numerous articles and book chapters on the works of Silvia Baron Supervielle, Cristina Bendek, Noëlle Châtelet, Annie Ernaux, Abla Farhoud, Nancy Huston, Linda Lê, Douna Loup, Sylvia Molloy and Laura Restrepo.
